JUVÉDERM ULTRA/ULTRAPLUS XC are versatile products for lines and folds. You may have had thin lips since birth. Ordinarily, a gradual reduction in volume happens over time as collagen breaks down faster than it is replaced. Patients who want a fuller, plumper look can choose the Ultra version of this dermal filler to add noticeable volume to their smile. Ultra is also an option for perioral lines as well.
UltraPlus is more resilient and is better deployed at the mouth corner’s downturns, marionette’s lines and other areas of volume loss.
In our experience results (after full correction) last up to 6 months for Ultra, and 9-12 months with UltraPlus.
JUVÉDERM ULTRA/ULTRAPLUS XC are a crystal-clear gel. Injection is through an ultra-fine needle. The lidocaine inside the gel improves the comfort of the injection by reducing sensitivity to pain. Besides helping restore volume beneath the surface of different areas of the face without surgery, treatment additionally also boosts the skin’s resilience.
WHAT IS HYALURONIC ACID?
Hyaluronic acid, or HA, is a natural substance in the body that strongly binds to water. As a result it delivers volume and added resilience to the skin. Modified HA is the main ingredient behind JUVÉDERM ®. Different formulations have different physical properties. This allows selection of the optimal match for the problem at hand. JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA ® XC is the softest version, VOLUMA ® the firmest (think chin and cheeks), while VOLLURE ® has the most pliability (laugh-lines).
Our practice has educational displays that patients can interact with to experience what these different versions look and feel like.
