"Dear Dr. Robben, Linda et al, I have recovered very nicely from my laser treatment. I just wanted to send you a note and thank you again for your time and care in June and over the years. It is a little embarrassing to want to look better, but you make me feel positive about it. With my 60th birthday this Tuesday, I feel good."
"I have been coming to this location for 9 years now. As my hormones changed and my hair growth increased, it was treated with the utmost care and attention. I actually commute 2.5hours this location as I moved since I started my treatment, bc that's how much I trust Mind Your Skin. Very effective results. Highly recommend!!"- SJ, Google Reviews, Summer 2018

Clearer, Smoother Skin for Havertown and the Philadelphia Area
While there are many factors that can affect our skin throughout its layers, the surface is what people see. This is where everything from age-related volume loss, to texture issues and scars, to various lesions that develop naturally over time are visible. Laser skin resurfacing at the Philadelphia area’s Mind Your Skin is an ideal way to go for anyone seeking to address these issues and more.
In order to provide solutions for a wide range of patients, Dr. Norbertus Robben has brought several different types of laser skin resurfacing options to his practice, each with unique benefits and treatment details. The Mind Your Skin team will work with each individual patient as just that: an individual in need of personal, customized care.
Since the skin serves as a barrier for the body, protecting against germs, debris, and more, it heals rapidly in order to maintain its function. This healing ability can be harnessed to generate cosmetic results with laser skin resurfacing. The treatment involves a fractionated laser using highly focused light energy to carefully create tiny channels in the skin. The body treats these channels as wounds to heal. The result is smoother, clearer skin overall.
What Can Laser Skin Resurfacing Treat?
Laser skin resurfacing is ideal for addressing texture irregularities, fine wrinkles, large pores, acne scars and other small marks, benign moles, skin tags, and more. Anyone with a particular concern is welcome to come to Mind Your Skin for a free consultation and recommendation of the treatment best suited to address it, whether laser skin resurfacing or a different strategy.
Laser Skin Resurfacing with Active FX
For more than two decades, the CO2 laser has delivered a solid track record of performance and safety and is still considered the “gold standard” in laser skin resurfacing for wrinkles, crepiness, pores, pigmentation, and more. Active FX is an advanced fractional CO2 laser application designed for more than just that. It also provides a skin tightening effect by remodeling collagen deeper in the skin and encouraging production of more of this important protein. As a result, the skin becomes smoother textured, vibrant, and more resilient. Active FX stands alone in that it is gentle enough to be used under the eyes and even on the eyelids! Thanks to the precise control made possible by lasers, ActiveFX can often yield superior results, with less risk or downtime than aggressive chemical peels, such as TCA or “Blue” peels. Downtime can be up to five days.
*Individual results may vary.

The fractionated erbium laser generates an effect that is well described as a “peel by laser.” Because they induce collagen remodeling, Erbium laser resurfacing treatments are good for dealing with “photo-aging”: texture and skin-tone changes, as well as surface-level lines and wrinkles on the face, neck, chest, or hands from years of sun exposure. Downtime tends to be less compared with CO2 laser resurfacing. Along with microdermabrasion and peels, Erbium is a great maintenance tool to refresh skin texture from time to time.
Other Laser Skin Resurfacing at Mind Your Skin
Pearl Fractional by Cutera® is a fractionated single-treatment anti-aging laser. It addresses deep-set imperfections and tired/weathered skin in one treatment session requiring moderate downtime. Pearl Fractional Laser resurfacing is used to improve skin wrinkles, sun-induced hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, irregular texture, and acne scarring.
Alternatives to Laser Skin Resurfacing at Mind Your Skin
SkinPen® Precision microneedling features the first FDA-cleared technology to effect Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) utilizing precisely spaced micro needles in a small cartridge to create micro perforations into the epidermis and the top layer of the dermis. As a result, the skin shifts its natural repair mechanism into high gear and starts producing collagen and elastin to repair these micro-perforations. The self-repairing property of the skin is a 100% natural form of skin renewal from the inside out. The appearance is similar to a modest sunburn without the downtime associated with laser treatments. Your skin becomes smoother and more resilient, regaining elasticity; fine lines and wrinkles are visibly reduced, pores become smaller, circulation is stimulated, and the overall condition of the skin improves.
Microdermabrasion is a polishing technique to remove dead skin cells. We use DiamondTome wands that have different grit of diamond dust to gently but effectively remove accumulated dead skin. This leaves you with a clean feel, and unclogs the pores. Chemical peels are balanced liquid solutions that are applied and briefly left on the skin to induce exfoliation.
Though they don’t replace the other (laser, SkinPen) procedures, both microdermabrasion and peels are great ways to help jumpstart and maintain your at-home routine of using select skin care products.
Additional Treatments to Complement Laser and Other Skin Resurfacing Treatments at Mind Your Skin
Autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a booster treatment created out of a vial of your own blood and applied immediately following treatment. The growth factors and interleukins in the plasma enhance the treatment result by seeping into microchannels (created during the Active FX, Profound, Erbium FX, Pearl Fractional, or SkinPen® Precision procedures) and stirring up cell regeneration (including new surface cells, the fibroblasts that make collagen, and structural proteins) while also reducing downtime!
